Jim Olson is a passionate advocate for Western heritage, an auctioneer, published author, and TV personality. As the owner of Western Trading Post, he has dedicated over 13 years to helping people buy and sell Western collectibles, preserving the rich history of the American West. Jim is also a Vice President of the National Bit, Spur, and Saddle Collector’s Association and serves on the CCA board, furthering his mission to celebrate and protect Western culture.

Jim Olson is a true embodiment of the Western spirit. With over 36 years of experience in the Western lifestyle, Jim has worn many hats—auctioneer, real estate broker, rodeo cowboy, writer, and TV personality. Today, he is the proud owner of Western Trading Post, Arizona’s premier Western auction house, where he connects buyers and sellers of Western & Native Americana, vintage turquoise jewelry, firearms, and Southwestern antiques.
Jim’s passion for preserving Western heritage shines through his work. As a Vice President of the National Bit, Spur, and Saddle Collector’s Association and a CCA board member, he actively contributes to the preservation of Western culture. His role as a TV personality on Western Trading Post TV allows him to share his love for Western Americana with a broader audience.
A native of Floyd, New Mexico, and now residing in Wickenburg, Arizona—the Cowboy Capital of the West—Jim lives his values every day. Married to Bobbi Jeen Olson, he continues to build a legacy rooted in authenticity, integrity, and a deep respect for the past.
